In its July 26 edition, the National Law Journal named Wilkes & McHugh, a national law firm with an office in Little Rock, to the magazine’s “Plaintiffs’ Hot List,” a list of the top 20 plaintiffs’ firms in the nation. Wilkes & McHugh’s selection was based in part on work done in Arkansas. The firm, which specializes in nursing homes, won a $78 million verdict in 2001 against Advocat, a national chain with a nursing home in Mena. The Arkansas Supreme Court later reduced the verdict to $26 million.
