James R. Freeman
Jim Freeman received his undergraduate degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida in 1975. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University School of Law in 1978.
Mr. Freeman began his practice in the trial section of Shackelford, Farrior, Stallings & Evans, P.A. in 1978. In 1980, he joined Shear, Newman & Hahn, P.A. and eventually became a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Shear, Newman, Hahn & Rosenkranz, P.A. Mr. Freeman has been with Wilkes & McHugh, P.A. since 1999.
Mr. Freeman is licensed to practice law in Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court of Appeals - Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Northern District of Mississippi.
In addition, Mr. Freeman has served on the Health Law Committee and the Code and Rules of Evidence Committee for the Florida Bar. He has also served on the 13-F Grievance Committee and he is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Civil Mediator. Mr. Freeman has also lectured at risk management seminars and CLE programs on medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, dental malpractice, and legal malpractice.
