Ruben J. Krisztal

Ruben Krisztal received both his undergraduate degree and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1973 and 1976, respectively. Prior to joining Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., Mr. Krisztal has practiced law as a private attorney since 1977, and specifically in the area of nursing home litigation since 1985.

Mr. Krisztal is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Pennsylvania. He has handled cases in multiple states throughout the nation, including cases in Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Wyoming. He is admitted before the Federal District Court for the 10th District and is a past-president of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and past chair of the Nursing Home Litigation Group.

Mr. Krisztal is A/V-rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been listed in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 1998. Mr. Krisztal is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum and is also a recipient of the 2001 “Dedication to Excellence” award from a national continuing legal education program. Additionally, Mr. Krisztal is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification (NBLSC).

He has appeared in various news publications including Consumer Digest where one of his cases was highlighted, local and national news publications, and educational seminars. He has been influential in creating and organizing the American Association for Justice and their nursing home litigation programs. Additionally, Mr. Krisztal is the author and editor of numerous articles, books, and chapters in books dedicated to the subject of nursing home litigation issues.
