Steven Wilheim

Steven Wilheim received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1996 from Southwestern University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude from Southwestern's prestigious, accelerated S.C.A.L.E. (Southwestern's Conceptual Approach of Legal Education) program. Mr. Wilheim served as member of Southwestern's Law Review, and was a five-time recipient of the American Jurisprudence Book Award in the areas of Constitutional Law, Civil Practice, Appellate Advocacy, Contractual Risk and Mistake, and Criminal Procedure.

Prior to joining Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., Mr. Wilheim was an associate at Balisok & Associates, Inc. for over 12 years and devoted his practice exclusively to representing victims of elder abuse and neglect by bringing actions against nursing homes and residential care facilities, and also against HMOs who wrongfully denied or delayed necessary medical care to enrollees.

Mr. Wilheim is licensed to practice law in the State of California, and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

In addition to his years of civil litigation and trial experience, Mr. Wilheim has represented his clients before the California Appellate Courts, and the California Supreme Court, and has been involved in over a dozen published cases addressing developing issues in the field of elder abuse litigation. Representative published decisions include:
