Blair Mendes received both his undergraduate degree and his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida State University in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Prior to joining Wilkes & McHugh in 2003, Mr. Mendes was a prosecutor with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Mendes is one of the firm's managing attorneys and has been involved in numerous trials, settlements, and appellate decisions resulting in millions of dollars for clients. He was co-counsel in a 2010 case that resulted in a $114 million nursing home verdict – a record in Polk County, Florida.

Mr. Mendes is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Association for Justice, Florida Justice Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, and Missouri Bar Association. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyer Division of the Florida Justice Association.
Super Lawyers magazine selected Mr. Mendes for the Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" list in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He was selected for The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 for 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
