P. Kevin Hackworth graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Science and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Prior to joining Wilkes & McHugh, Mr. Hackworth began his legal career in public service as Assistant County Attorney for the Carter County Attorney's Office in Grayson, Kentucky, before going on to private practice. During his career, Mr. Hackworth has represented clients in a wide-range of civil litigation and criminal matters, with his focus primarily in the area of medical malpractice defense litigation. Mr. Hackworth has practiced law for 19 years and has represented clients throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, from Pikeville to Paducah. He has successfully defended physicians and hospitals in 15 jury trials, as well having effectively defended criminal clients, including a death-penalty client acquitted of capital murder.
